2023 is the Year of the Rabbit in Japanese zodiac. The Japanese zodiac is based on a 12-year cycle. Each year has a symbolic animal.
In order, the 12 animals are : Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Boar.
We use these animals to signify the year. According to a folk tale, the order of the animals was decided by which animal gave its new year’s greetings to the God first.
It is believed the people born in the Year of the Rabbit are good-natured. They are liked by everyone, and will usually lead happy lives.
